1 Kings 19:19-21 KJV
“So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.

God needed a vessel to take over the office of Elijah. And behold God found a man called Elisha. I remove “Elisha” and put my name there. And God found a man called “Samson.”

Here comes the question – Were there no other men in Israel? Were there no sons of the prophets in Israel? How come Elisha was the one God choose? Why is it that Elisha was the one that will take over the office of Elijah?
Well, we cannot tell. Only God knows.

But according to the Spirit of God – when the Lord began to open my eyes to the revelation of the Scriptures, In the life of the sons of the prophets and other people at that time, God was looking for something, the same thing applies to this time as well. I’m going to tell you what it is.

The Bible says, “God beheld the sons of men.” So in the days of Elijah, God beheld the sons of men.

He looked at the motives, intentions, heart, determination and found a man with a contrite heart. God was looking for a man with a contrite heart and broken spirit. And there are mantles of power that God has purposed to release upon His vessels in these last days.

But in the days of Elijah God was looking for a man with a contrite heart and a broken spirit. Likewise in our days God is looking for a man with a contrite heart and a broken spirit.

There are so many people that have not even gone far. They are still in their locality and they are boasting – full of pride. How much more when the Lord allows them to go beyond their locality? That means they will turn to something else.

God is not looking for such people. He is looking for a man with a contrite heart that has reverence for Him. That will humbly bow and obey Him. That will give whatever He demands.

Do you know that there are so many people on mountain now? Go to different states and you’ll see people on the mountain. What are they asking for?

“Lord give me the double portion of your anointing”. “Lord give me power.” And after 21 days of dry fasting they receive nothing. Not even a drop of power.

Why ? God knows that if He should give them His power, they will use it to enslave His people. In fact their hearts are full of pride.

So what am I trying to say? God is looking for a man with a contrite heart that will give whatever He demands. A man that will go wherever God leads him to go.

That will do all that pleases God. A person with a broken spirit and godly sorrow. A person desperate for the will of God.

PRAYER : OH LORD MY GOD , MY LIFE IS AVAILABLE FOR GOD’S USE, RELEASE YOUR FIRE INTO MY LIFE IN JESUS CHRIST NAME.
